Over the years I’ve spoken to many people who would like to learn meditation, once they know I practice regularly. But they always admit to me they just can’t get it to work, and it ends in frustration.

Well, that’s how I started too. Perseverance is the key and a few techniques that will make it much easier. But I’m not going to talk about that.

What? Not in this article. I will tell you how to make it easier another time. Thing is, you’ll still need to persevere to make it a regular habit, and without lots of good reasons, you’ll give up.

It unclutters your mind

There is something magical that happens when you can relax and let the tension in your body dissolve. Excessive thinking, worry, headaches, problems, and any tension in your brain, dissolves too.

Imagine dark, ominous clouds; your normal thoughts. When you meditate, the clouds slowly drift apart, revealing a bright blue sky. This is what it’s like when you are able to unclutter your mind. It’s achieved by being in the present moment. The past or the future doesn’t exist, for now.

It boosts your energy
