How to build websites with no budget
And use my sandbox strategy to test your ideas
After the events of last year, I have become a cheapskate. I am always looking for the cheapest or no-cost way to achieve what I want. But applying a low or no-cost approach to my web presence has provided insights on a much better way to do blogging and build websites.
Traditionally, I have always paid for, what is often, expensive hosting, software, and tools to build a web presence. And I have realised the amount of money you spend makes no difference to your popularity online or the number of visitors turning up at your website. I used to think the quality of a site and how it looked online was key, but it just isn’t.
I cancelled my web hosting at the end of last year when they almost doubled the price on me. I simply could not justify the cost in terms of what the website was achieving for my business. The maths didn’t add up.
But now I have found an interesting new strategy
Forced to search the internet thoroughly for low-cost, high-value services to provide what I wanted, I stumbled across an interesting strategy. I own and regularly use a Chromebook, as well as a Windows laptop, but I’ve never really taken advantage of Google’s range of free products. Until now.
