Design your morning routine to feel great

Most people hardly ever think about their morning routine. That’s because it has usually evolved over time, driven by what has to be done every morning, such as tasks, work, transport, family demands, what kind of breakfast you eat — if you eat one at all! And if you are a morning or evening person.

Morning people have the advantage here because they naturally wake up early, bright and alert, and often have one or more activities they want to do before they start their day. They usually enjoy eating breakfast.

Evening people love the night hours, go to bed late and often get up as late as they dare, with just enough time to get ready to fly out the door to work. They are not at their best in the morning and it takes them quite a while to wake up.

What does your morning routine look like?

If you want to supercharge your day, it’s time to give your morning routine some thought, especially if you are an evening person. Most people give themselves just enough time to get ready for work, have breakfast, and get to work on-time. Often, it’s the quality — or lack of — sleep that makes for a good or bad day. Your quality of sleep determines the quality of your day.

I'm obsessed with health and feeling good. Nutrition, sleep, exercise all play their part. But energy is fundamental to a healthy life.
