Starting a podcast the easy way
It could be a great way to build an audience
Podcasting is enjoying a resurgence, along with blogging, which is another online content creation method that’s been around for a while.
Listening to many website owners, bloggers and marketers wax lyrical about podcasting, you’d think it was the road to riches. But isn’t it true that everyone shouts about the benefits but not the difficulties?
Call me a skeptic, but I needed a little more convincing. Pat Flynn, who runs the website ‘the smart passive income’ blog has lots to say about podcasting and, of course, publishes his own podcast too.
So, I thought I would investigate. Could it be useful for me?
Over many years, I have developed reasonable communications skills — writing, speaking, teaching. I have done public speaking before as I used to run user group meetings for my employer at the time. I’ve also run group training courses for students on technology topics. And in more recent years I have done online tuition for students using audio and video.
So I think I can easily talk on topics that interest me in front of a microphone, especially if I have a crib-sheet to follow. I am told, however, that the best podcasts involve interviews with industry experts. But looking at some…
