The three critical conditions needed for major healing to happen in your body
Actually, I lied, because there are four conditions, except that three conditions are critical to have, and one is a condition you absolutely must not have in your life.
Let’s talk first about the condition you must not have — stress.
Stress can be both good and bad for you
Believe it or not stress can be a good thing for us when it improves our performance or gives us an edge, such as during a competition. Or when you impose your own deadline to ensure you produce a result you’ve promised yourself or other people.
On the flip side, stress can be bad for you when it is chronic and continuous. The stress from a competition is over once the competition has finished and the winner announced. Now your body can return to homeostasis, which is a state of relaxed equilibrium.
The effects of chronic, long-term stress
Chronic stress can come from bad relationships, work situations or enduring money problems, just to name three examples. They can last a long time, are continuous, are not easy to alleviate, and can do tremendous damage to your mind and body. A long-lasting state of elevated cortisol and inflammation can have a serious effect on your health and wellbeing.
