We need to change how we live

Why we should change and where we’ve gone wrong

Today I had my winter flu vaccination. They are now free of charge from your local health clinic here in the UK if you are over 50. There was another queue of patients waiting for a different vaccination. It was the COVID-19 booster. This has been promised to us by the UK government, in part, because they are worried that case numbers will increase over the winter period, fuelled by the possible combination with, and complications from COVID and flu together.

It’s amazing how a large-scale epidemic galvanises government into boosting health care prevention, like vaccinations, to a new level. Where has the money suddenly come from. We are often told there is no extra money for nationwide action of this magnitude, yet here it is, happening now.

The last 18 months makes you think doesn’t it?

Have viruses evolved to new levels both in speed of contagion and ability to render our immune defences useless, or has our immune system taken a hit in its ability to protect us from the natural world; a world with hundreds of different viruses and pathogens, many of which are more dangerous than COVID-19. If you are to believe the media, it’s the former.

But I am not so sure.

I'm obsessed with health and feeling good. Nutrition, sleep, exercise all play their part. But energy is fundamental to a healthy life.
