I wanted to project myself forward to age 80 and say, ‘Ok, I’m looking back on my life. I want to minimise the number of regrets I have’

This is a terrific way to make decisions. It’s a great mantra for deciding what’s important and what’s not in your life; what’s worth pursuing and what’s not. It brings so much clarity to your decision-making.

So I’ve been thinking about this myself. What actions do I want to take in my life — regardless of whether they fail or succeed — that I would not regret taking? What do I want for myself in 5 or 10 years' time?

  • Exploring and spending time living in other countries
  • Creating a personal business around writing and teaching, both online and location independent
  • Meeting and connecting with people like me, and that like me
  • Making health, fitness, and well being a top priority
  • Learning new skills continuously, until I drop

Of course, these are just my personal goals in life and extend more than 5 or 10 years. They are forever, as far as I am concerned. A couple of them — the last two goals — I already do right now. But the rest? sadly not.

I'm obsessed with health and feeling good. Nutrition, sleep, exercise all play their part. But energy is fundamental to a healthy life.
