What’s behind the growth of live streaming?
And which platform will get the most watchers?
So while I was brainstorming how to create content easily, quickly, and organically for me, and at the same time learn in public or market the content I’m creating to a wider audience, I stumbled on live streaming.
You might say to me, where have you been hiding — live streaming has been around for years. That’s true, but the last year, in particular, has seen watching hours skyrocketing, according to major platforms.
Why is this happening?
Although it’s a favourite place for internet gamers to hang out, there is a lot more to live streaming. It’s a way to create a lot of content and market your business, product or service to a much wider audience.
I am a private maths tutor and know the middle years' curriculum well, so it’s quite easy for me to create maths content that students would find useful. For a while, I have shied away from producing YouTube videos due to the complexity. But on studying just one platform — facebook live — I can see that it’s not difficult to achieve, especially with their new platform, live producer. I tested it out today and found it to be easy to use.
