Why everyone needs their own personalised diet
And how to build your perfect eating plan
There are many approaches to diet. And while each approach has its benefits, such as vegan, vegetarian, paleo, keto, atkins, or a diet that has evolved from what your parents fed you, or the types of food that has influenced your eating habits over many years, you need to find a plan that best suits the way your body works and your own individual genetic makeup.
I’ve done this for myself through trial and error over the last couple of years by experimenting and seeing what works for me, and what doesn’t. It’s worth it though as all of the food I eat I find to be delicious, supports my health and healing goals, and keeps both my weight and fat levels consistent. I weigh between 64 and 65 Kilograms, with fat percentages between 16 and 18%, and a BMI of 23. This has been consistent over time.
One way to build the perfect diet is by using a scientific approach. Genetics plays a role in your body’s ideal weight and response to different foods. You can now get your weight or FTO gene analysed. It can tell you if you gravitate towards sugary, junk food, for example.
